A 60-day voyage circling Australia is being halted in the wake of the death of an elderly female passenger who was stranded by the ship on a isolated coastal location.

The elderly woman had been walking on Lizard Island with other travelers from the vessel, but separated from the excursion for a break. The liner sailed away leaving her and returned after some time after the personnel realised the lady was not present.

An extensive rescue mission found her body the subsequent day.

The CEO of the cruise operator said that travelers and crew on the ship were notified that the rest of the journey had been called off due to the "tragic passing and prior engine troubles".
